Theme for the Month: Giving

"We make a living by what we get,

but we make a life by what we give." - Winston Churchill

We have been thinking a lot about preparing for the season of Christmas. We are all so excited about presents, Santa, tinsel and trees and that is ok. But we have also discussed how we can prepare for Christmas in other ways. Thinking about giving is a great way to prepare. At this time of the year we give presents for which we always show gratitude but we can give more. We can think of others less fortunate than ourselves and give something back. We can give of our time by visiting others, sharing a smile, saying a kind word, helping at home or doing a job for someone. We can give as an act of charity to food banks, charity collectors, donating items to charity shops. We can give by showing our family and friends love and kindness. Let’s give and give with love, especially during the season of Christmas! This is feels even more important this year with everything that we have faced.

Carnlough CIPS Gives back

We presented Lesley from Aware NI with a cheque for £600 We are always blown away be the generosity of our families and the spirit of giving displayed by our pupils. The challenge of 5km was completed during lockdown and we couldn’t be prouder of how the Carnlough CIPS family thinks of others and continues to show kindness. Well done everyone.

Carnlough CIPS Celebrations!

Well done to our fantastic artists! We had a first prize winner in the annual Credit Union competition who is now going through to the next round with their first place win! Well done everyone. Congratulations too to the winners of the Carnlough Community Association Christmas card competition.

PTA Christmas Raffle

Our annual craft fair could not take place this year. The PTA decided we should be giving back to businesses that have always supported us through the years. They purchased vouchers from a variety of local businesses to give the entrants to their Christmas raffle a chance to win Christmas! We raised £500! As always we are blown away by your kindness and generosity of spirit. Well done to the prize winners and thank you for your support!

Christmas Concert

We were delighted to bring you another 5* production! ‘It Takes a Village’ debuted on the 18th December and provided some much needed relief from everything going on in the world! Thank you to all the staff, families and friends who helped prepare the boys and girls, provided props, recorded, edited and tailored costumes. The children gave such a confident performance and best of all had lots of fun doing so. We are very proud of each and every one of them. Carnlough CIPS has talent!

On behalf of the staff at Carnlough CIPS, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy Christmas and a happy and healthy 2021. We would also like thank you for the kind cards and gifts.

I hope everyone has a peaceful, safe and joyful break. It has been a busy, challenging but enjoyable first term and I would like to thank you, our parents and families, for all your patience and continued support throughout it. A big thank you also to all our hard working team. Without your effort and dedication, it wouldn’t be possible to do what we do.

More importantly I would like to thank the boys and girls for their continuing hard work and effort. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the New Year.

Merry Christmas!

Miss Mulholland
