November 2020

Read on to find out about our October and November news to see what is coming up ahead!

Don’t forget to check our school website and school Facebook page for updates!

Theme for the Month: Caring

‘Even the smallest act of caring for another person is like a drop in the water – it will make ripples throughout the entire pond.’

Jessy and Brian Matteo

We in the Carnlough CIPS team have been blown away by your acts of kindness and how you have shown how you care for others in our school community, our local community and those much further afield. Our bucket of kindness is over half full! We love catching our girls and boys in the act of being kind and caring towards others. The Antrim Coast Lions were very grateful to receive all our donations for this year’s shoebox appeal.  Well done everyone and a massive thank you for always showing how we care for others.

Anti-bullying Week

We are taking part in anti-bullying week beginning 16th November with ‘United Against Bullying’ being the key theme in this year’s campaign. Our Integrated ethos is built on respect and mutual understanding and it permeates through everything we do. An integrated school promotes respect and equality by its design and we are so proud of this. We are pledging to make little changes to make our school an even happier place! We know who we can talk to in school if anything is making us feel unhappy. Each class will be taking part in circle time and PDMU activities during anti-bullying week.

Carnlough CIPS Has Talent!

A massive well done all our Larne Credit Union art competition winner! This year the prizes have been posted to school so there will be no official prizegiving. We are very proud of you. In our school we celebrate all our different talents and abilities and rejoice in our achievements. We also have some excellent entries to the Christmas card competition too so fingers crossed! Your cards will look beautiful displayed in the Community Association!

Say Cheese!

We have booked the school photographer for Mon 30th November. We usually have school photos in Term 3 but missed out last year due to Covid-19 therefore we have booked an earlier slot. In order to keep Carnlough CIPS a Covid secure environment the photographer will be wearing PPE, maintaining social distance and following all the guidelines outlined in our Covid Policy. We will also be unable to have sibling photos in order to maintain social bubbles. We hope you understand this is to keep us all safe.

Open Day

Obviously things have to be done a little differently this year and therefore we are unable to host an open day. We will however be putting together some promotional material on our social media channels to show the wonderful work that goes on Carnlough Integrated PS. We will be available to host virtual meetings by appointment with anyone wishing to enquire about our school for their child/children for September 2021.   We welcome everyone to our school and would love as many as possible to experience our caring, nurturing and truly integrated family school. I would therefore like to ask you to share this information with family and friends, spread the word, talk about your experience of Carnlough CIPS. Thank you for your continued support!

Carnlough CIPS PTA

Once again Covid-19 has meant lots of our annual festivities cannot take place. We would still like the opportunity to carry out vital fundraising activities and offer an opportunity to win some fantastic prizes. To keep our school a covid secure environment this will be done online. More details to follow.
